Roland Carlen is an Operating Partner with Humatica, based in Zurich. He brings to each engagement more than 25 years of management experience from blue chip multinationals as well as pharmaceutical and medical device industry growth companies.
Roland has worked for private equity investors and corporate leaders across a range of industries. He has an extensive track record of helping companies realise significant performance improvements in the areas of sales and marketing, supply chain and organisational effectiveness in medical device, textile and logistics businesses.
Prior to joining Humatica in 2013, Roland was Managing Director Dental for EMEA at Zimmer Inc., Director of Marketing at Thommen Medical and Managing Director for the European business of CIBA Vision/Novartis, where he held several international positions in marketing, sales and operations. He has lived and worked in Switzerland, Canada and Sweden.
Roland holds a master’s degree in Business Administration/Economics from the University of Basel and has completed the Novartis executive training programme at Harvard Business School. He is fluent in English, French, German, and Swedish.
